Lord of the Rings GSXR Streetfighter gallery House of Kolor paint

One of the most enjoyable tanks I've painted! I'm a big fan of LOTR and so I couldn't wait to get some ideas down onto metal. . Wanted to use the Tengwar Elvish language on the GSXR and so if you can read this it says 'Painted by Beej Curtis Organic Image 2003'. (Apparently!)

I designed a Celtic knot work pattern and put this on first in gold and then buried this in freehand, smokin, Organic flames in white basecoat with the trusty Iwata HP-BC. All this over an awesome violet and blue pearled metalflake. Used an awful lot of kandy and pearl oranges & yellow's to get that Eye of Sauron glowing like the one in the movie. . kandies and pearls are great for fire as they reflect the light very nicely and almost give off a glow.

Used the space on the sides & front for portraits of characters from the movie and finished it off with 6 coats of clear and polish to a show-stopping shine by Gerry at Hardrocks in Bournemouth.
