Walz Hardcore - Tribal Skulls gallery PPG & House of Kolor paint

Sketches were produced first and emailed to client after innitially taking digital pics and superimposing artwork onto bike. I like working this way as the client then sees how the artwork will look on the metal. Once agreed frame was made good, primed and based b4 any artwork was attempted, the customer had one request . . this had to be a show-stopping work of art!

Masking for tribal blades designs and then lots of freehand, smokin Organic flames . . I loves a-paintin' those flames man! Freehand and very detailed skull on tank top with lots of free-thinking, Organic shapes tied it all nicely together.

As usual, the PPG basecoats rule for the artwork detail and then everything is buried in several House of Kolor Kandy's in different blues and violets. I like to mix some transparent colours myself using special carriers and tinters. Once the frame, tanks, guards and swingarm were finished it was off to the booth for some shiny clearcoating and polish by Dave Smith in Matchams who did - as usual - a superb job on this.

We dropped a small amount of blue pearl in the clear and when this baby rolls out in the sun man, she pops!
